One of the silliest B movies ever made, but a Christmas classic nevertheless. For some reason my local TV station used to air this film after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and as a kid I loved it. Santa kidnapped by Martians, oh my! Can the children save Santa AND Christmas?
This hokey holdiday fare is best watched with the littlest ones. Maybe in the background while putting up the tree. It extolls the morals and virtues of the meaning of Christmas, i.e. sharing, caring and cross-species cooperation.

The title of this movie is misleading because there is no actual conquering involved , but it is a great title anyhow. The plot of the movie is fairly simple , the Martians kidnap Santa along with 2 Earth children and take them back to Mars to perform medical experiments on them and thus turn them into horrible mutants who return to the Earth to destroy Japan but are defeated by Godzilla. The three Martian insurgents are then arrested and sent to the Martian equivalent of the Gitmo detention centre . No I am just kidding. This is actually a good movie for little children and their parents to sit down and watch as a family at Christmas time. The kids will really get a kick out of it and there is enough goofiness in the film to entertain the grown-ups. The title song ' Hooray For Santy Clause ' is a catchy little jingle that the kids will like and probably drive you nuts as they sing it over and over . This actually the film debut of Pia Zadora who at age ten plays one of the Martian children (Gimmar ). Another highlight of the picture is the goofy looking polar bear and of course the inept and dimwitted Martian who befriends Santa and the children. This is a good family holiday movie not to be missed. No elves, polar bears, Earthlings, Martians or Christmas spirits were harmed in the making of this motion picture.

The all time classic of odd movies. Saw this when I was a young kid in the theater. Never could get it out of my head. Agreed, watch it before A Christmas Story every year.
